Neurology opening in Connecticut Located in New Britain, CT - 12m from Hartford Full time, permanent opening Joining a hospital-based practice Fellowship training in Movement Disorders required Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in Movement Disorders Leads the Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorder Center and provides Movement Disorders patient care. To teach principles of Movement Disorders, to provide leadership to programs and personnel; to develop service models of care, and to advocate for diagnostic and supportive care for patients with Movement Disorders. Interacts with medical staff/referring physicians to ensure continuity of care. Ensures the adequacy of the individual treatment prescriptions for patients, including any contraindications and/or precautions. Consults with Chief and Program managers in the development of the Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center programs. Promotes/advocates for Movement Disorder patients and for individuals with activity limitations. Continuously assesses the quality and appropriateness of patient care provided within the Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center to assure continuous performance improvement is monitored and evaluated and participates in outcomes measurement. management activities and the Patient-Centered Specialty Program (PCSP). Is responsible for the teaching education and research programs in the Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center. Develops ongoing relationships with stakeholders, such as families, patients, other physician payers, and community members. Participates in comprehensive outpatient program development and modification. Responsible for annual budget and ongoing financial monitoring and management. Participates in the education of medical residents, students, and neurology residents in the Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center. Gives direction and in-service to Neurology and Neuromuscular departments on topics in Movement Disorders. Continues own education in areas pertinent to hospital mission as documented in the credentials file. Coordinates care with non-hospital affiliated neurosurgical partners for the surgical treatment of appropriate patients with movement disorders. This includes participating in appropriate multidisciplinary case conferences and communicating with industry representatives.
